I was once again overcome with amazement at the skill level that the Inter-Provincial Team atheltes are reaching.

Last week the Inter-Provincial Team and the National Program teamed up to put in a solid week of training in Whistler to finish off training season. We had 12 of the Inter-Provincial team members attending throughout, 6 of whom had never been to the track before.

Being a former National Team athlete - I can truly say that those 6 athlete (Elisabeth, Corey, Cassie, Travis, Paula & Jon) learned quicker and faster than myself and my teammates when we were first sliding on that track!! It took Travis and Corey all but a 2-3 days to move up to the Skeleton Start from Damen Start, and by the second week the other 4 athletes had done the same.

Thank you to Greg M., Lanette, Joe, Jaclyn and Dave for leadership and guidance to these athletes.

The competitive season now officially wraps up in Lake Placid for the final America's Cup. Greg M, Lanette, Cassie and myself will be joining Jon, Paula, Greg R., Madison, as well as Charmaine & Jamie from the Ontario Inter-Provincial Development Team.

I hope everyone else begins to wind-down a bit and start to make off-season training plans. The focus will now be forward and onward!
